Real Madrid have provided update on defender, Sergio Ramos’s injury after he suffered a broken
nose during Saturday’s 0-0 draw in the La Liga derby at Atletico Madrid.
The Real Madrid captain sustained the injury during a first-half clash with Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez.
His nose was plugged by club medical staff while he played on until half-time and was replaced by Nacho Fernandez.
The club’s release on Sunday said, “He [Ramos] has been diagnosed with a fractured nose. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane had earlier said he did not know how many games the defender could miss.
“I did not see anything and will not comment,” he said after the match.
“The referee did his job, that’s it. It is a fracture, for Sergio. I believe it’s broken. I don’t know how long he’ll be out for.”
